The first season of Jericho contains 22 episodes which were originally broadcast in the United States from 20 September 2006 to 9 May 2007. This season unfortunately won generally negative ratings from the general public and led to the original cancellation of the series by CBS. The season began with the pilot episode and ended with Why We Fight, in a cliffhanger style.
