Johnston Jacob "Jake" Green, Jr is the oldest son of Johnston and Gail Green, and brother to Eric Green. Born in the Kansas town of Jericho, Jake for a time was part of Jonah Prowse's group of survivalists. Following a botched armed robbery however, which resulted in Prowse's son Chris Sullivan, being killed, Jake left town. He spent some time serving with Ravenwood, a private military contractor. Following an incident however, which resulted in several civilian casualties, Jake formally left the group and made plans to change his life.

September Attacks[]

Five years later, just prior to the September Attacks, Jake returned to Jericho to pay respects to his grandfather, who had passed away in his absense. Jake also sought to collect the money his grandfather had left to him. When it became clear that his father, who held the money in trust, would not release the money to him Jake prepared to leave town again, before being injured in a car crash on the way out of town with a driver who was distracted by the Denver blast. With his car destroyed by the crash and the driver and passenger in the other car deceased, he headed back towards Jericho on foot. However, while walking back he came upon the site of a crash between a local school bus and an animal, in which the driver had been injured. He helped clear the animal and got the bus running again, and helped calm the children down with the help of Heather Lisinski, one of the local schoolteachers. Jake also performed an emergency trachiectom on a child who had sustained a neck injury, using several juice box straws taped together with bandaids.

In the months following the attacks, Jake took on a leadership role in the town and helped put together the Jericho Rangers, a local militia group based on training from his grandfathers US Army Rangers manual.

In search of medicine[]

When their father came down with pneumonia, Jake and Eric travelled to the town of Rogue River to search for medicine at the local hospital. Upon arriving however, the pair came under fire from an individual who was formerly a mercenary with Ravenwood, a private military contractor. When he discovered the pair was only searching for medicine though, he stood down and the sole remaining doctor told them what medicine they would need. It was at this point however, that additional Ravenwood personnel arrived, with plans to loot the remaining supplies from the hospital. The former mercenary opted to remain behind and hold them off as long as he could, while Jake, Eric and the doctor fled the town to return to Jericho.

While the trio had escaped and made it back to town, Eric had accidentally left his wallet at the hospital, which resulted in John Goetz, the leader of this Ravenwood unit, learning the location of the town. His unit followed him and his brother back, and attempted to force the town to give up supplies to them.

Planning for war[]

He would later travel to the neighboring town of New Bern to rescue his brother, who had been captured after trying to destroy a munitions factory the town was using to prepare for an attack on Jericho.

The Allied States of America[]

Following the arrival of the Allied States of America, which led to the garrisoning and reconstruction of Jericho by the Allied States Army and Jennings & Rall, the area's military commander and chief administrator, Major Edward Beck, recognized Jake as one of the leading individuals in the town, and chose to appoint him sheriff of Jericho as a result. Jake and the rest of Jericho witnessed the domination of the ASA and Jennings & Rall over the town and the country at large, with Jake knowing first-hand how dangerous Jennings & Rall was when it came to business dealings as a result of his involvement with them when he was younger. Shortly after, Jake came clean to his brother Eric, and explained what he did during his absence prior to their grandfathers death. Jake had served as a private military contractor for Jennings & Rall in Iraq and Afghanistan. He left the service of Jennings & Rall and vowed never to return after he took part in a massacre in Iraq with other Ravenwood soldiers, which resulted in his passport being flagged for non-cooperation on an undercover investigation against Ravenwood. The incident had haunted him for years, as he had killed several innocent civilians, including a little girl.

Jake secretly worked with Robert Hawkins, whom he eventually saw as a friend, to get the last remaining nuclear bomb from the September Attacks to the Independent Republic of Texas, thus exposing the conspiracy behind the attacks. The Cheyanne government (ASA) and Jennings & Rall had covered up the true culprits of the September Attacks and blamed it on North Korea and Iran which they bombed out of existence. In getting the last bomb to Texas however, Jake Green and Robert Hawkins inadvertently started the Second American Civil War with Texas siding with the Columbus government (USA) in the coming war.

Personality and traits[]

Though seen as impulsive, Jake was also intelligent, often coming up with ideas that helped the town to not only survive, but thrive. Jake was also a skilled pilot, thanks in part to his flight school training and skills his grandfather taught him.
